We went down to the fire department for BBQ and potluck on the 4th of July and got to eat great food and chat with some good fiends. We had one heck of a lightening storm and we thought it was going to ruin the fireworks display that they shoot off of viewpoint. Instead of getting a torrential downpour we got to watch a magnificent lightening show that seemed to stop when the fireworks started at 10:00 PM. This picture shows 3 of the Smith boys with Hunter; they are watching the lightening shoot across the sky by the top of the courthouse.

Here is Seth digging in his snail stash. He worked really hard to find these snails down by the creek and he was telling his mom all about it.
This is Matt helping all the kids with the fireworks. He soon had to run off to assist with all the fire traffic from the lightening so Warren took over.

Everyone kept telling the kids to get out of the way of the camera but I think this turned out great. this is Justin watching the fireworks on the ground and he has his "Fire...Surf & Rescue" shirt on.
