Shots, Banding and Dehorning

You could safely say that I love all the fun parts of having baby goats but I detest making them cry!  I am very, very lucky because my hubby is great at the animal vet side of things and we have a great friend, Keith Headley, that is wonderful help.

This is a picture of Keith holding a little one down while Warren is dehorning with the hot iron.  Hunter is in the back counting off the seconds so the iron is left on just long enough.

Of course the snow was blowing sideways on the same day that we chose to vet the babies and Bessy's stall was getting coated.  The men put up a nice tarp to save her and the babies from the deluge of snow.

I just love this picture!  The triplets were so tired after getting poked, banded and burned that they all stopped moving and curled up together.

The twins on the other side decided to keep watch on us humans!

And here is Warren checking the work.  How cute!  Thank you sweet husband for taking care of the yucky jobs when it comes to the animals!

Crazy Cajuns

I am sitting here at my computer trying hard to learn this graphic drawing program while I work on a button job for my dear friend Simone in Texas - who is just recently a former Louisianan.

I think she mentioned yesterday that she and her husband, Dave, were staying home today because it was going to snow and they did not want to miss it...?

Then, she sends me these pictures and writes the following,

"Thought ya'll might enjoy this! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! The neighbors are looking out their windows and wondering what those crazy Cajuns are doing in the yard!"

Ah Ha!  This is where the crazy Cajun comes in!

This was a welcome distraction from my work :-)  Thank you Simone & Dave for loving everything that life throws your way!

Mud Bogging

There is one thing I know for sure - Frosty LOVES to roll in the mud!

And she always has one white patch left on her face just so you can see what color she used to be :-)

Baby Meets Baby

Here is a picture of my great niece Payton checking out the goats.  Her daddy is Chris, my nephew, and grandma is sister Sheree.  Of course the littliest "kid" is Sweetpea.
Disclaimer:  The can of chew is not chew, it is filled with items that make a lot of noise. ;-)

Henry & Sugar's Triplets

Sugar, who is a full blooded Nubian, gave birth to triplets on Sunday, January 17th.  We received 2 bucklings and a doeling.  The two bucklings are on the right in this picture.  From left to right we have Sweetpea, Rancher and Little Bit.

It is really hard to get all of them in one picture!  In this one, Sweetpea has her little patuti towards the camera.

This picture shows the paint coming through on the back of Rancher's neck.  Sweetpea has the paining on her neck , a spot on the back of her front leg (just like Henry's) and then all four of her feet are brown.

 Isn't she adorable?

This picture kind of shows the back of their necks better...

This is of Rancher and Sweetpea.  Maybe you can tell by now that I am keeping little Sweetpea.

More to come as time starts to allow :-)

Bossy & Flossy Are Having Fun!

Bossy and Flossy are at the point where they are having a lot of fun and they are a lot of fun to watch!   I put this little play set in their stall and they love making a ton of noise on it and jumping on each other and Bessy.

And just when you thought they didn't get any cuter than this....stay tuned for the next update :-)

Bossy & Flossy

So, it's official...the names are Bossy and Flossy.  Bossy is on the left and flossy is on the right.  Oh, and that brackish thing under her foot is not poo - it is part of a mineral lick. :-)

This is Flossy and her stripe on her head resembles her daddy's while she has the tipped up ears like mommy.

And this is a close up of Bossy - too cute!  She has the darker head like her daddy.

Breaking News from the Barn

Bessy has won the race to have kids out here in the barn.  This is Bessy's first kidding and she did everything like she has been doing it forever!  She even gave us 2 doelings!  Check out the pics just taken in the barn - all the excitement started around 11:30 am and it is a cool birthday too....01/11/10!

At first there was only one...

After the first one got some nursing in and got it's legs on the ground the second one came while this one was hamming it up for the camera.

And there is number 2!

Look at the cute marking under her chin!

And here is Bessy and her first babies :-)  Our herd just went from 12 to 14.  These two girls look just like Henry - especially with those mile long ears.  They should be ready for squeezing this weekend!

The Triple E Promotions Blog

Wow - the holidays have finally passed (yeah, it has been over a week - I know!).  I went from the holidays to working on taxes and organizing in my office.  No one should be punished like this!

I did manage to post the second installment on the business blog today.  In case you did not get a blast on the new blog please visit and share it with anyone you know.  The address is http://tripleepromotions.blogspot.com/

I think that I am a sucker for taking on more than I can possibly do in one lifetime so I guess that would explain the additional blog.  I will eventually be able to keep up with one...but two?  I have a plan for that though (remember, I used to be a planner in my previous life?) - I plan on posting to the business blog once a week with a new picture of products that we are selling and some promotional tips.

So, I am hoping to take the occasional break from taxes and post to the blog over the week.  Stay tuned because I have a mountain of pictures to get the new year started - or the old year caught up!
