Astoria-The Dock Area...

When we actually went to Astoria we went to the riverfront which is on the Columbia River. We looked through a fish cannery museum that used to be an actual Bumble Bee Tuna packing plant and we watched the big cargo ships go by. We also listened to an watched the sea lions begging for food from the fishing boats. This is a picture of a sea lion looking for a good rock to sun them self on.

This is one of the ships that had come in from the ocean at some point before we got there and it was anchored the whole time we were there.

This is a container ship that had just left the Port of Astoria and appeared to be heading upstream to deliver elsewhere.

This is a picture of a couple ships moving through. The bridge in the background is four miles long and connects Oregon and Washington.

This ship was also anchored out in the river and was just unbelievable HUGE!
